Tasks and Session
The "Task" stands for any operation, for which You want to keep time tracking.
Before the operation start create new record using "New Task" button in the toolbar and fill in the record parameters, such as name of task, hourly rate, customer.
Start the timer to start the time registration by pressing the "Start Timer" button in the toolbar or by double click on the record line.
Upon the operation completion stop the timer by pressing again the toolbar button or by double click on the record line.
At every timer start, a new session for selected task is created. In the session commencement date, completion date and run duration are registered.
You can review selected task session list in the inspector bar on the right. If required, you can edit the session list with no limits. You can change commencement or completion date of the session or delete errant session.
Hourly pay categories
In the program pay category list is provided. Each category contains fee schedule, by which the hourly pay for performed operation is calculated.
Using the category list you can easy and quickly preset an hourly rate for a group of tasks or for every task individually. You don’t need to every time specify the rate; it is enough to select a category from the previously drawn list.
Folders and smart-folders.
In the program both conventional folders and smart-folders can be created. Using the folders you can group the tasks in various manner, for example by customer, by categories, by projects and so on.
Scheduler
You have thought possibly, how much tasks and how large quantity you should perform first of all in order to meet the time given for work and, how to receive the highest possible return if you have some incoming orders with different cost, time for realization of which is known at the average. The scheduler will help you to draw up such an optimal plan, income from which realization will be maximal for completed orders during definite time.
Let’s take a simple example. Let us suppose that you are receiving regular orders to create a simple icon and a banner for a web-page. For simple icon creating you are spending at average 0.5 hours at its cost 20 USD per hour of work and, for banner creating you are spending 2.5 hours at 12 USD per hour of work. At this, you should promptly perform an order consisting of three icons and one banner at the same day.
Let’s make a schedule for works perform for 8-hours work day.
First of all, let’s add two new categories to the categories list "Icon": the rate of pay – 20 USD and the rate of pay for "Banner" – 12 USD.
Then, let’s create the new schedule, while clicked the button "New Schedule" on the toolbar and then, input our incoming orders into the lower table. Let’s add two lines with categories "Icon" and "Banner". To consider the prompt orders, 3 should be specified for "Icon" category and 1 – for "Banner" category in the column "Minimum number". Maximum possible number for every task should be specified in the column "Maximum number". An average time for performance of one task will be specified in the "Average time of performance". It will be 0.5 hours for "Icon" category in our example and 2.5 hours – for "Banner".
Let’s input number of hours per day for tasks performance in the field "Number of work hours". There is only remains to press "Start search" when all the incoming orders have been entered and, the optimal schedule will be shown in the top table.
In our example, most optimal will be realization of 11 orders in "Icon" category and of the order in "Banner" category during 8 hours assigned for work. An income from performed orders will be 140 USD at such schedule.
This is a very simple example showing the importance of optimal time allocation.
The evolutionary algorithm is used in the program for optimal schedule search, which allows to find the very good decision or decision good enough for schedule optimal search, depending on number of incoming orders.
It is possible to press the button "Start search" repeatedly if the number of incoming orders is large enough and the found decision does not satisfy. Program will try to find the alternative solution that can be better than the previous one.
Sound and voice warning
In the task utilities sound or voice warning can be switched on. After the preset time period selected sound or voice signal will ring.
Time tracking in power standby mode
If you left computer for a long time and left the timer active, the program, on default, will record the time, during which the computer was in standby mode. If this capability is not required, you can deactivate the time tracking in power standby mode in the program settings.
Data export to file
You can export selected group of tasks or individual tasks to text file or data file. Using the data file you can easy transfer the tasks to the spreadsheet processing program.
Program updating
In the program automatic check and downloading of updates is imbedded.
The "Time Control" is distributed as a shareware.
The demo period for non-registered version is 14 days.
Upon the demo period completion the timer start capability will be deactivated. To activate the program the registration key must be entered.
